Plan B operates along the South coast of the UK. Based in Gosport, Hampshire with reach across Southampton, Portsmouth, Havant and surrounding communities, aiming to positively impact the lives of disadvantaged young people aged 10–24 year-old who are currently:

 

• Not succeeding in, nor engaging with, mainstream education.

• At risk of offending or being victims of crime themselves. 

• Not in education, employment or training.
   

Our core educational programmes deliver:

 

• Practical vocational training in our workshops - where students learn carpentry / boat building skills, as well as joinery for building and construction trades. Students can achieve an Entry level 3 and Level 1 through our Open Awards ‘OFQUAL’ accreditation.
   

• As part of our programmes, our students will take part in rowing, kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding under instruction from our British Canoeing and British Rowing qualified instructors. Plan B also has RYA (Royal Yachting Association) recognition and we give our young people the opportunity to take part in RYA sail training, offshore team building and sailing events locally and further afield on our MCA (Maritime and Coastguard Agency) Category 2 coded vessel.
   

• Students can also learn bike maintenance and basic engineering skills in our engineering workstation.
   

• Our students will also take part in fresh and sea water fishing activities.
   

• Cooking skills under instruction in our fully equipped kitchen giving skills for independent living. This can also include basic food hygiene level 1 and 2 when applicable.
   

• Music sessions in our purpose made studio, including instruments such as keyboard, piano, drums and guitar, DJing and mixing music, recording, sampling, editing and producing music including song writing sessions.
   

• Work experience through social enterprise activities through designing, producing and selling articles and accessories made from wood materials and minor boat repairs.
